1. What is IELTS?

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System.

2. Why do I need IELTS?

If you intend to go to one of the English speaking countries like England, Canada, Australia or New Zealand as a student, one of the requirements of their university is to have IELTS score or if you want to apply for permanent residency to some of these countries IELTS help get some points too.

3. Do US universities prefer IELTS?

No. US universities prefer TOEFL.

4. What is a good IELTS score?

What score you need is decided by the respective university, but 6 band score is a standard score, Some competitive universities ask for more than 6 band score when some university asks less than 6.


5. Do I have to enroll in a tutorial home for IELTS preparation?

It depends on what kind of student you are. If you are a student who can study by himself and who has enough materials, you don’t need to go a tutorial home. You can prepare at home or consult a friend who is taking the IELTS test or you can go to a good tutorial home for IELTS help.

5. Do I have to enroll in IELTS program to improve my general or spoken English?

No. As I said IELTS is mostly for student who want to study abroad or wants to apply for immigration to Canada or Australia. For spoken English and General English there are other course designed basically for spoken and general English, not IELTS.
